Virtual organizing is a growing trend in the professional organizing industry. More and more professional organizers are adding virtual organizing to their list of services. It is great opportunity for professional organizers to work with clients everywhere from anywhere! However, to the general public, virtual organizing is a new and unfamiliar service. In this article, I will give you some guidelines and tips to help you with marketing your virtual organizing services.

Organizing in Plain Sight

Organize by displaying your things instead of hiding them.

Have you heard of organizing in plain sight? It’s a concept where you use your open spaces to organize your belongings. With this method you can have as much useful storage space as the square footage of your home itself. Amazing right?!

Consider displaying your belongings instead of trying to stash everything away and out of sight. This “display” method of organizing is something I use in my own home as well as client’s homes.…

Get Organized Series: Armoire is for Organizing

Relaxing Organized BedroomOne of the most common and frustrating organizing challenges in many homes is the lack of closet space. Sure you can edit your things to a minimum, install a new closet system, move other items around to different places to make closet space, but what if you’ve already done that? Angie’s Bio:
Angie DorseyI have always been passionate about organizing.  I am a natural born planner who is obsessed with checklists and containers.  It’s a sickness I know, but what can I say.  Before becoming a professional organizer, I spent 14 years in the corporate and educational sectors, serving in both administrative and customer support capacities.  After some soul-searching, I finally realized that my purpose is to help others lead more organized and productive lives.

7 Key Questions to End Closet Clutter Chaos

Overcrowded and unmanageable clothing closets happen to everyone at some point in their life. As professional organizers, we have found that it is one of the top reasons our clients reach out for help. And it’s not hard to imagine how most people get into this situation; after all, shopping malls outnumber our high schools in the United States!

closet clutterThere are lots of reasons why it is hard to deal with the closet overflow. For busy people, the idea of taking the time to thoroughly purge their closet can seem impossible.…

How I went paperless, and then went back to paper again

neat scannerA few years ago I invested in a NEAT scanner with the goal of creating a completely paperless office. Being a professional organizer, I am pretty good a purging, but still managed to have two file drawers full of papers that I needed (or wanted) to keep. I had my office assistant help me and over the several months (mind you, this was done when there was time, around everything else), we scanned and scanned and scanned some more.

I reduced my paper load to ½ of a small file box which contains tax returns and legal documents where I need to keep the originals.…
