As a business owner, you should always be on the hunt for new customers and this means building your list of contacts and customers. If you are not consistently looking for opportunities to build your customer base, your business could fall off of the growth track. Building your list and staying connected to those on your list is a great marketing strategy to bring in new clients and stay in touch with current or past clients.
So, how do you get started building your list? Well, you can purchase a list, but we highly recommend that you donāt go this route. For one thing, many email newsletter programs will reject such lists. They consider it spam. Building your own list is important because you will be communicating with the people who have actually shown interest in you. The best way to build your list is to do so slowly and organically, so that the people on your list are truly interested and engaged in your business.
So, how do you get people to opt-in to your list voluntarily? Make it easy for them by putting a link to sign up for your list on every page of your website and on your social media pages. Also, include the link in your email signature. And speaking of social media, get out there and encourage your followers to join your list. You can also contact people directly and ask them to join.
They key to getting people to join your list is to offer an incentive, such as a coupon, a free tip sheet, anything that might reward them for making the effort.
So, get out there and start building your list today. You’ll be glad you did!
